Reiki is Japanese for Universal Life force. It is an energy healing technique which originated in Japan in the later part of the 18th century. Its founder is Dr. Mikao Usui. Reiki and Animal Reiki uses source energy also known by a few other names such as Prana, Chi, or Holy Spirit in the western world. Reiki flows naturally through everyone of us. It’s a gift we’re born with that if we choose we can develop.

What is it good for?

Reiki and animal reiki relieves pain, anxiety, and fatigue, treats depression, enhances quality of life, aids in relaxation, activates the body’s natural ability to heal, releases tension from muscles, balances the mind, realigns the chakras, and cleans and sweeps the aura. Animals are much more receptive to this energy than we are.

What to expect.

Everyone reacts differently to this type of energy healing. For instance some sense heat others cold, others sense nothing at all. It’s important to stay hydrated before and after a Reiki Session. Depending on what blockages are removed, crying or laughing are also associated with Reiki. Some patients become so relaxed they fall asleep. Don’t worry the reiki energy will continue to work. Animals also relax during a reiki session and fall asleep as well. When an animal has had enough it will usually give thanks with a nuzzle, lick, or pawing and walk away.

Things that will help boost your receiving of Reiki are avoiding cigarettes and coffee for a full 24 hours before your session. Keep your mind on positive thoughts. Fasting, either a water fast or a juice fast. Eating fresh produce and avoiding processed foods. Reduce time watching t.v. and avoid confrontational or stressful situations. Meditation for 15-20 min. After a reiki session if you feel tired or drained it is recommended that you drink water and eat some chocolate.

What affects the length of a session?

Everyone is different and has different needs. The length of a session is determined by the condition you are healing, the amount of mental, and physical trauma you carry. How clogged your chakra system is. How much negative energy you need to release. It also depends on the amount of stress you need to release. You can expect a reiki session to last anywhere from 45-60 min. Animals are much more receptive and need anywhere from 15-60 min. For animals its the same as humans and this varies depending on your pets condition.

Why choose remote healing over hands on healing?

The person or animal requesting the healing is not in the same geographical area as the practitioner. Remote healing can be a good option for animals who are skittish about being with strangers or too hyper to sit still. Remote healing is also beneficial for large animals such as livestock that are injured and pose a treat to the reiki practitioners. For humans with busy schedules, remote sessions allow them to benefit from the energy without having to make time to drive to and from the session. Remote treatments are just as effective as in person treatments and can be preferable to hands-on treatments in some instances. Distance treatments are also quick to schedule: in emergency situations, I can usually offer a distance treatment the same day. Contact info can be found on the home page Chreikihealing.com

The Reiki Principles

Just for today, I will not worry.

Just for today, I will not be angry.

Just for today, I will be grateful.

Just for today, I will do my work honestly.

Just for today, I will be kind to my neighbour and every living thing.
